# Ask Opal about your members and revenue

Lesson 2 of 4 in [MemberPress AI — Working with Opal](https://academy.memberpress.ai/courses/memberpress-ai/), 3 min.

Your membership numbers are all in your site, scattered across reports. Once your site is connected, you can ask Opal about them in plain words, the way you'd ask a colleague who knows the business.

**Ask one specific thing**

Open **Chat** under the MemberPress AI menu and ask about one thing over one time period: which plan, which month, which members. Try the questions beside this lesson. Each answer comes from your own site's data.

If you're not sure what a number means, ask: "What does this revenue figure include?" Opal tells you exactly what's counted and what isn't.

**A worked example**

You ask which plan loses the most members. Opal says it's your monthly plan, and that most people leave in their second month. Now you have something to act on: look at what those members see in their first few weeks, or give them a reason to stay past month two. Ask again next month and see whether it moved.

**The common mistake**

Asking something broad, like "how's my site doing?" A general question gets a general answer. Specific questions get specific answers.

**When the data can't answer**

Sometimes a number was never recorded, or your site is too new to have a trend. Opal says so plainly instead of guessing. A missing number isn't the same as a zero.

## Try these prompts

- Which of my plans has the highest churn?
- How many members joined last month, compared with the month before?
- What's my monthly recurring revenue across all my plans?
- Which members have failed payments right now?
