Connect it to your tools
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the common way to give an assistant tools: search your docs, read your store, open a ticket. One MCP server works in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, and in Grok through the xAI API, which is why it's the habit worth learning once.
Try it with this academy
The academy has its own MCP server at https://academy.memberpress.ai/mcp. It searches every course, lesson and recipe here. Connect it, then ask for a lesson by topic.
Side by side
- Claude: in the app, Customize, then Connectors, then "Add custom connector", and paste the URL. In Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http memberpress-ai-academy https://academy.memberpress.ai/mcp. - ChatGPT: OpenAI's developer docs add one at chatgpt.com/plugins: "Add custom MCP server", paste the URL, then pick it with
@in a chat. What's available depends on your plan and workspace settings. - Grok: in the xAI API, pass the server as a tool of type
mcpwith aserver_urland aserver_label. The Grok app has its own connectors, for things like email, files and calendar. - Cursor: add it to
.cursor/mcp.jsonin your project, or~/.cursor/mcp.jsonfor every project:
{
"mcpServers": {
"memberpress-ai-academy": { "url": "https://academy.memberpress.ai/mcp" }
}
}
Checked against each vendor's docs on 2026-10-14: Claude custom connectors, Claude Code MCP, ChatGPT plugins quickstart, xAI remote MCP, Grok overview, Cursor MCP.
