Connect your site to MemberPress.ai

Video3 min

Until your site is connected, Opal can only give general advice. Once it's connected, she answers questions about your members, your plans and your revenue from your own numbers. It takes about five minutes.

Before you start

  • MemberPress is installed and active on your WordPress site.
  • You're signed in to WordPress as an administrator.

Connect

  1. Download the MemberPress AI connect plugin from the connect page, then upload and activate it in your WordPress admin. A MemberPress AI item appears in the sidebar.
  2. Open MemberPress AI → Connections and click Connect to memberpress.ai. Your browser goes to MemberPress.ai and asks you to sign in if you aren't already.
  3. On the Connect your site to MemberPress.ai screen, read the line that says who you're signed in as. Your site belongs to whichever account approves it. If it's the right account, click Connect Site.
  4. Back in your WordPress admin, Connections says it's setting up, and the first sync starts on its own. When it's done, Chat, Reports and Content appear under the MemberPress AI menu.

What Opal can see

Your members and their memberships, payments, subscriptions, membership plans and their prices, and totals such as active members and monthly revenue. Your WordPress password never leaves your site.

The common mistake

Clicking Connect Site while signed in to the wrong account, such as a colleague's or an old test account. The site then belongs to that account. If the "signed in as" line is wrong, click Cancel, sign out, and start again with the right account.

If your numbers look out of date

Press Sync in the app, and Opal pulls your latest data.

Try these prompts

Hi, I'm Opal. In this course, I'll show you how to work with me on your own membership site. And it starts here, with connecting your site, so I can actually see your members and your numbers. It takes about five minutes.

Here's why it matters. Until your site is connected, all I can give you is general advice. Once it's connected, I can answer questions about your members, your plans and your revenue, using your real numbers instead of guesses. Before you start, check two things.

MemberPress is installed and active on your WordPress site, and you're signed in to WordPress as an administrator. Now let's walk through it. First, download the MemberPress AI connect plugin from the connect page, then upload it and activate it in your WordPress admin. You'll see a new MemberPress AI item in the sidebar.

Next, open MemberPress AI, then Connections, and click Connect to memberpress dot ai. Your browser takes you to MemberPress.ai, and if you're not signed in yet, it asks you to sign in. Then you'll see a screen that says connect your site to MemberPress.ai. Before you click anything, look at the line that says who you're signed in as.

Your site will belong to whichever account approves it. If it's the right account, click Connect Site. You'll land back in your WordPress admin. For a moment, Connections says it's setting up.

Then the first sync starts on its own. When it's done, you'll see Chat, Reports and Content under the MemberPress AI menu. That's how you know we're connected. So what can I see?

Your members and their memberships, your payments, your subscriptions, your membership plans and their prices, and your totals, like active members and monthly revenue. And your WordPress password never leaves your site. Now, the mistake I see most. Someone clicks Connect Site while they're signed in to the wrong account, maybe a colleague's or an old test account, and the site ends up connected to that account.

So read that "signed in as" line every time. If it's wrong, click Cancel, sign out, and start again with the right account. And if your numbers ever look out of date, there's a Sync button in the app. Press it, and I'll pull your latest data.

So here's the one thing to remember: check who you're signed in as, then click Connect Site, and in a few minutes I can see your real numbers.
